Girls' nursery Claire

The monument sign next to the front door already reveals that Jasna and her family live in a unique building. The house in the center of Hoorn exudes an authentic and historic atmosphere, and while designing the nursery for daughter Claire, Jasna already says: "Everything, absolutely everything in this house is crooked!" Tuk Make-Over had the opportunity to visit the young family in Hoorn in March, and we were amazed by the beautiful home, but certainly also by the final result of Claire's sweet nursery. It became a room with a mix of soft colors, dreamy wallpaper, and modern furniture. Come take a look inside Claire's beautiful nursery!

A new girls room

When I put out a call for a baby girl's room for Tuk Make-Over earlier this year, I immediately received a lovely response from Jasna. Jasna: "I happened to come across the call for the Tuk Make-Over on Instagram and was immediately enthusiastic. Claire's room was still Mitch's old room at the time, so it felt like the perfect time to transform it into a proper room for her. I have a good idea of what I like and what I don't, but I found it difficult to bring all the ideas together. My wish was a soft, calm girl's room that would last longer than just the baby phase. So the help of an expert came at just the right time!"

Although the room had already been designed and planned in advance, Jasna's room immediately felt like a real Claire's: "The atmosphere is soft and calm, with neutral tones that suit her perfectly. It's a real girl's room, but in a subtle and timeless way. Exactly what we had in mind for her."

Growing up nursery

For Casper and Jasna, it was important that Claire's room could truly grow with her. "We wanted a foundation that wouldn't feel too 'baby' too quickly, so she could enjoy it for years to come. The Woodluck extendable bed was a great choice – practical and beautiful. What I love most is the wallpaper. It instantly creates a cozy atmosphere in the room without making it feel cluttered. And there's still plenty of room for her to play when she's a bit older. I can just picture her sitting there with her dolls or books – her own little haven in the house."

For me, it's always a joy to see how a design ultimately comes to life in a room. The style of this Tuk Makeover turned out to be a perfect match for Casper and Jasna's charming home. We chose to paint the old built-in cupboard with shelves in the color "Let's Eat Brownies" by Day at the Zoo, which makes it extra unique and also allows it to blend in beautifully with the rest of the room's color palette. The two walls in the color "Cookie Dough" by Day at the Zoo add extra warmth to the room and create a beautiful whole with the wall-to-wall wallpaper by Mrs. Mighetto. Finally, the more modern furniture from Woodluck gives the room a nice balance.

Baby room paint and wallpaper

Jasna says of the final result of this Tuk Makeover: “What really surprised me about the final result is how everything came together. When I painted the shelving unit, I initially had my doubts about the color—I didn't necessarily like it. But once the wall was painted, everything fell into place. The colors turned out to complement each other beautifully and enhance each other. It just goes to show that sometimes you have to wait until the whole thing is perfect before you can judge. The overall look is just perfect now—that's what makes it such a lovely and cohesive space.”
